Slow and Steady - Wins the Race...

At Craft Haus we have had a mini holiday due to work and feeling generally Flu - Ridden!! its gone round everyone but thankfully Findus has been keeping us amused and in some cases motivated!!!

Look at him trying to encourage me to crochet! Granted I had to take him for WALKIES before getting hold of the wool!!

But even after a few weeks of feeling gross wandering round town with hankies up my nose there are still some beautiful bits of inspiration around the town that make me want to get home and make things!!

Cleaning metal and pavements doesnt have to be dull! get hold of a stencil and a pressure washer...temporary  graffitti!

I have done bits and bobs for years I can machine knit, dismantle and rebuild a sewing machine, I can make basic patterns now and really like playing with concrete and building things! Im also playing around at the moment improving on my drawing skills which is a lot of fun!

What would you like to learn?

I would Love to learn how to build my own furniture, I saw some bits that the Director David Lynch had made and really wanted to build something, playing with wood is great anyway theres so much to do to make a piece of work but I really like that, Its a labor of love!

What is it about being in Brighton that you like?

I love Brighton! My wife and I moved here some years ago and we fell in love with the place there is never a dull moment and there is so much to do and see and its always changing, its great by the sea you can spend ages there and just go walking and explore with a camera its fantastic!

What creative and awesome things are happening in 2013 that youre looking forward to?

Im looking forward to the Komedia having the Duke of Yorks there, I love cinema and the open houses, its such a good experience going round and seeing fantastic pieces of work by really inspiring people!

JOIN UsSSsss!!

At Craft Haus HQ we had an idea for a community - Competition / group art project!
We wanted to celebrate our fab town, and the awesome crafter/ makers and artists in it! what we would like to do is a photographic/ craft based calender for 2014 starting from this year...if that make sense?

the idea that we had was to make it so that each month had a high defintion photo of a piece of art work / craft project photographic piece or photo collage - it could be seasonal or just visually stimulating but Creativity and Brighton need to be the key themes!

So January is open for submissions, the winner of each month will receive a free calender once the calenders are out and about! and the funds raised will go to an undecided charity at present.

Our email is info.brightoncraftguerrilla@gmail.com and if you would like to crowd source inspiration and ideas the hashtag  #creativecalender14 can be used on twitter or instagram!
Good luck!!
